Matter is made of atoms, which in Greek means indivisible, because at the beginning it was thought that they could not be divided. Today we know that the atom is made up of even smaller particles.
Each atom is made up of three different types of particles that are electrons, protons and neutrons. Protons and neutrons form the nucleus, while the electrons that are equal in number to the protons are found outside it.
